This just goes to show how the "War on Terror" can be manipulated to fan the flames of this Islamophobia. I think Islamophobia is becoming a serious problem throughout Europe right now, in a similar way the anti-semmitism was in the ersly 30s. I was in the cntre of Milan last week and was basically shocked by another expression of this hate. One of the neo-Fascist groups in Italy, la Liga Nord, were holding a rally, right in Piazza del Duomo under the slogan: "Stop Islam" (written in English for some reason??)!! This is a growing problem in Europe I think and unless we get our act together, rather than ranting on about how Muslims are backward etc, it won't be long before this kind of shit happens in the UK. Another European tragedy was what happened in France I think -with the banning of the Hijab, with support from everyone (including sections of the left!!). I think there are echoes of this in this report referring to the "bellicist left" (whoever they are??). WE MUST ACT NOW TO STOP THIS RISING TIDE OF ISLAMOPHOBIA!! Sometime between now and when the European right introduce their "final solutions" for the Muslims would be good!! Don't let the UK follow the same tragic route of Germany or France!!
